Have mercy on me, O Lady,
for my enemies have trodden upon me every day:
all their thoughts are turned to evil against me.
Stir up fury, and be mindful of war:
and pour out your anger upon them.
Renew wonders and change marvelous things:
let us feel the help of your arm.
Distill upon us the drops of your sweetness:
Immaculate Heart of Mary
help us to conquer the menace of evil
which so easily takes root in the hearts of the people of today,
and whose immeasurable effects
already weigh down upon our modern world
and seem to block the paths toward the future.
O Mary, Most Holy and Immaculate Mother of God,
of Jesus, our Victim-High Priest,
True Prophet, and Sovereign King,
I come to you as the Intercessor of All Grace,
for that is truly what you are.
O Fountain of all Grace!
O Fairest of Roses!
Most Pure Spring!
Receive me, Most Holy Mother!
Present me and my every need to the Most Holy Trinity!
Father, by the power of the Spirit,
strengthen the Church's commitment
to the new evangelization
and guide our steps
along the pathways of the world,
to proclaim Christ by our lives,
and to direct our earthly pilgrimage
towards the City of heavenly light.
May Christ's followers show forth their love
for the poor and the oppressed;
Gracious and Holy Father,
give us the wisdom to discover You,
the intelligence to understand You,
the diligence to seek after You,
the patience to wait for You,
eyes to behold You,
a heart to meditate upon You,
and a life to proclaim You,
through the power of the Spirit of Jesus, our Lord.
Grant, O Jesus, that I may remember Your life and example,
by loving my enemies, bearing with injuries,
doing good to them that persecute me,
and praying for them that slander me.
Assist me to overcome anger by meekness,
tepidity by devotion, selfishness by caring,
and boastfulness by humility.
Through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
Father of light and wisdom,
we praise You for Your gifts:
for giving us the power to see,
and the ability to write and read
and to use the arts of printing.
Help us to use these crafts and skills
for Your greater honor and glory,
and for the salvation of all Your people.
I am Irma Lara Cantago, a Columban lay missionary for many years. A high school teacher by profession, I was teaching for 15 years and at the same time involved in the parish, helping the catechist and lay leadership formation. I had the passion to serve and be with the people. That experience deepened my faith and made me reflect to leave the school someday and be a parish worker.
O God, You make the wicked man just,
and You do not desire the death of the sinner.
Your servants have confidence in Your mercy.
We humbly beg Your majesty that You will,
by Your heavenly aid,
kindly shield us from the dangerous waters,
and preserve us by Your continued care,
so that we may always gladly serve You,
May you walk with God this summer
In whatever you do,
Wherever you go.
Walking with God means
walking with honesty and with courage,
walking with love and respect
and concern for the feelings of others.
May you talk to God this summer
and every day and in every situation.
